You will be surprised to find out that the English word love comes from the Sanskrit word lobha; lobha means greed. Maybe it was just a coincidence that the English word love grew out of the Sanskrit root meaning greed, but maybe it is not just a coincidence.

Probably, there is something more mysterious behind it, probably, there is some alchemical reason. How can greed become love? Love means to share, to give and not to ask for anything in return. Maybe there is an alchemical reason why lobha becomes love in English.

Sanskrit is known to have more than a hundred of words and phrases that people use to talk about their feelings. Today we use the word love to describe our feelings to our parents, to our family, to the nature or to the music. However, ancient people used much more words to show their feelings. They had about eleven aspects of concept of love.
